Whooo Loves You?

Peek a boo!
Here's another little Valentine duo (card and treat holder).  This little owl is just too cute!  I have debated about getting this owl punch and after seeing so many cute projects with it I just had to get it.  The owl idea came from Lynn Put, so cute!  This little duo will be offered for a make 'n take on Friday, February 3rd at Roosters from 10-12.  I did put a valentine greeting on the card, but it could also be changed out to be a birthday or thinking of you gift.  I will be bringing extra sentiments in case you don't want to use it for Valentines.  Also thought it would be cute done up in blues for a boy theme (minus the bow on the owl).

Well off to do some more sledding, gotta take advantage of a no school day!! I have to say I love the snow so long as we don't have to go out in it.  My poor hubby got called in to plow roads at midnight last night and they told him to expect to work all night and his entire shift today!! And since we are expecting 6-12" more snow tonight I'm sure he won't be home very long before he goes out again.  Sure hope everyone appreciates the plowed roads and the many hours these county workers put in to keep the roads safe!  Here is a peek from our living room window as the snow was falling.

 Enjoy your day!

So Thankful

I wanted to thank each and every member of my surgery team, as they made my whole experience a very pleasant one.  It's nice to work in this department as we are like family and I knew I would be in the best hands during surgery.  I made each of them a thank you card and little goodie to show my appreciation.  They really made me feel like a queen, they had slippers, lotions, bath salts, gels, all kinds of feel good things all wrapped pretty for me sitting in my room when I got there, the best co workers a girl could ask for!  And they even played Elton John's Benny and the Jets as I drifted off to sleep (at my request!).  Here's the cards I made:

Wisteria Wonder

Bashful Blue

Melon Mambo
bad picture cause it's really a lot pinker in person

Daffodil Delight

These were a breeze to make with the new flower punch and matching stamp set in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.
Other supplies used were the Perfectly Penned stamp set, First Edition DSP, Dotted Ribbon Scallop Border Punch, silver brads, 3/4" circle punch.

Just want to pop in and share a few things I was doing this morning around 5 am when I couldn't sleep any longer.  Dan had been working all night plowing snow and sanding the roads and just got home at 4am so I came down and played in my craft room a while. . . my favorite time of day, sipping coffee and stamping while everyone is still sleeping.

I love these new Framelit Dies!  This notecard is made with the Labels Collection.  I die cut whisper white cs leaving just an edge along the top for the card to open, then die cut Attic Boutique DSP in the same size and adhered it to the white notecard.  Second layer was diecut then embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder and sponged with Pool Party ink.  Third layer done in Pirouette Pink and the music notes wheel in Crumb Cake ink.  Pool Party seam binding was used for the bow along with a new Twitterpated button, love the details in the buttons!

This little pocket card again uses the Framelit Dies and again I used the Attic Boutique DSP, the smaller label was die cut then stamped with Hello Doily in Melon Mambo on Very Vanilla cs.  I am totally in love with the Tea Shoppe stamp set and find myself using it nearly every day!

I think this card will be Dan's valentine card, more on a masculine theme with the Indigo Blue and Houndstooth embossing folder.  Very simple and straight to the point!  I think he will love it, he's a no frills kind of guy!
Enjoy your Sunday!
Hugs, Lea

On the mend

Finally beginning to feel human again.  It's really hard for my body to take it easy when my mind doesn't want to, but my body was winning this battle.  Just thinking of these empty days that I could/should be accomplishing something, anything besides just laying around has been really hard for me.  My mind doesn't take a rest, and it wonders why my body needs to lol!  I think I prefer being on the other end of surgery, where I get to take care of the patient instead of being one!  But it's over, done (as we would say at home: Bang, Wow, Done!) that stupid commercial drove us crazy, if you don't know what I'm talking about google Bang, Wow, Done and you will find this ridiculous xfinity commercial.  I know I'm rambling and no it's not the pain medication.  Just thought I would post a couple of projects I've been working on.  This was made for a dear friend's birthday and she puts on the best tea parties so I figured Stampin' Up!'s new Tea Shoppe stamp set was a fitting choice for her gift.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the box but it holds the large cards in the back pocket and has two small pockets to hold the 3x3 cards and envelopes!

This set uses the new paper that will be available as part of Sale-a-Bration beginning January 24!!  The stamp set is available now in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  More to share tomorrow!

Winter's Here

Winter must finally be here because we had our first snow of the year!  Ali said she had to go out and catch the snow on her tongue because it was the best thing in her life (at that moment).  I just loved watching her dance outside with the snow falling all around her.  Hoping these memories will stay deeply etched in my heart forever.  I know how fleeting these moments are and I cherish each one that comes along.  The smile on her face as her hands are outstretched twirling around in the snow, what a joy she is to have in my life!  I know Christmas is long over but wanted to post a picture of our luminary card we did for our last class of 2011.

Supplies used were SU! Pool Party cs and ribbon, Northern Flurries snowflake die with silver glimmer paper, Petite Pairs clear stamp set with silver embossing powder, Bells & Boughs clear stamps, Whisper White paper with the stripes embossing folder and chunky glass glitter.  This looked really beautiful with a battery operated tealight candle flickering inside.  Everyone had a great time making these and the best part was that it folded up to fit in an A2 envelope!  I will have to try making these for some other occasions as they were pretty easy to do.  Enjoy the weekend!

I know it's been a while and I won't even try to make excuses;) I have a few things to chat about but need to get this card posted first and off to work this morning.  I have more projects to share and will be back later  with them.  This card created is for CCWCM182 sketch challenge:
