Whooo Loves You?

Peek a boo!
Here's another little Valentine duo (card and treat holder).  This little owl is just too cute!  I have debated about getting this owl punch and after seeing so many cute projects with it I just had to get it.  The owl idea came from Lynn Put, so cute!  This little duo will be offered for a make 'n take on Friday, February 3rd at Roosters from 10-12.  I did put a valentine greeting on the card, but it could also be changed out to be a birthday or thinking of you gift.  I will be bringing extra sentiments in case you don't want to use it for Valentines.  Also thought it would be cute done up in blues for a boy theme (minus the bow on the owl).

Well off to do some more sledding, gotta take advantage of a no school day!! I have to say I love the snow so long as we don't have to go out in it.  My poor hubby got called in to plow roads at midnight last night and they told him to expect to work all night and his entire shift today!! And since we are expecting 6-12" more snow tonight I'm sure he won't be home very long before he goes out again.  Sure hope everyone appreciates the plowed roads and the many hours these county workers put in to keep the roads safe!  Here is a peek from our living room window as the snow was falling.

 Enjoy your day!

Hugs,
Lea

Smile!

This has to be one of the fastest and easiest kids valentine's projects around.  I think these will go into our valentine bag of goodies for Ali's classmates, along with their bookmarks.  I made these two faces but I think I will let Ali draw her own nose and mouths when we make them for her friends.  These were just my practice ones, easy peasy!

Valentine bookmarks

Wow, I almost didn't think I'd get some stamping in today. Little Ali wanted to go to McDonald's for lunch and go inside and play.  I thought "I can do this", figured I'd take a magazine and forgot that, and my dumb luck all the schools had an early release day so there were tons of kids at McDonalds!  After that little adventure we went to the library to check out some beginning reading books, perfect for my little stamping project - valentine bookmarks.  Figured I'd make some of these for the kids at her preschool to give along with a treat.  Here's a pic of what I did today:

Here's a sampling of what I made.  Some for kids and some for the teachers.

I left these so the kids could color their own in, maybe I'll include a couple of crayons instead of candy.

I thought the teachers could have these.
They were super easy to do.  I cut 1" strips that were 8" long, adhered them to white cardstock that was 8"x11 1/2 " leaving a small space at the 5 1/2" mark to cut in half.  Then cut 2" bookmarks, making 8 lickity split.  Used a corner rounder for the top corners, and my crop-o-dile for a hole at the top to slip a ribbon through.  Really wanted to put a couple of buttons on but figured they wouldn't let a book close all the way.
Well that's it for today.  Plan for tomorrow is to make my Valentine banner for my mantle.
Happy Stamping,
Lea

Sweet Treats

Good morning, if all goes well today and I get my stamping done I have a fun little Valentine project that I'll de be showing you later.  For right now I have a cute valentine treat made with SU!'s little heart treat cups.  It's not a card, more like a tag with a goodie and very easy.  Hidden inside is a piece of cardstock that can easily slide out either side to reveal the candy without having to take it apart.

Of course I had to hand pick the M&M's to match!  I think I'll be making some of these for my fellow co-workers for their Valentine treats. I just love the different color combo for Valentine's day.

That's all for the moment. Check back later for a little more eye candy.  Thanks for looking.

Lazy, rainy Monday afternoon

What a strange Monday for me, I didn't have to work today!  Can't remember the last time I had a Monday off without it actually being a holiday.  So many things to get done the day just flies by and I wonder how I have time to work.  It seems I should have so much free time on my hands with an unexpected day off and yet I find I don't have time to do everything I need to do.  But I do cherish each and every spare moment that I get.  After my posting yesterday, what a disaster, it seemed everything I posted was backwards.  I'm going to try and get it right today.

I've been working on a Top Note wallet (found the idea on Stampin Addicts) and I just wanted to add a few more inserts so it will hold more pictures.  This was the second one I did, and it turned out much better than the first.

I made this one for my hubby, it has pictures of our little Ali's 4th birthday party.  She had a fairy party and all the little girls were wearing fairy wings looking for things in the yard that the fairies had left behind.  I will post her invitation and some pics later, it was so much fun, but onto the wallet.  Here is the inside

This is what you see when you first open the wallet then the two pictures flip up and down to reveal more pictures and some envelopes with tags for journaling

It was such a sunny day there were very few pictures that didn't have shadows.  Well I think I may have done this post correctly this time, and since I've spent about 45 minutes doing this I better get off here and get some dinner started. Have a wonderful day!

That's all for tonight, I've spent a great deal of time on this for the night. I'm so excited to finally get this going I'll probably be able to do another tomorrow! Hubby and my little Ali need some attention so that's all for now.
