Getting crafty. . . .

Two days in a row of posts, I may be onto something:) Today I have to share two sweet boy cards I made using Crafty Secrets stamps, I just love their products.  Both cards were made using the same set.  On both cards the overalls on the boy and the little pocket were popped up with dimensionals with a little paper piecing instead of coloring!
This one uses some tea stained seam binding, and patterned paper by Stampin' Up! (an older, retired line of papers they had out).  Fun to add a coordinating envelope for the recipient to enjoy.

This one has his overalls and pocket popped up but also the wagon and puppy as evidence by the shadow you can see behind them.  Edges were sponged with distress ink and papers used were My Mind's Eye Lost and Found collection.  Notice the next two pictures for the inside of the card.  The sentiment piece is layered behind the front image which is revealed when opened.

And next is a close up of the inside sentiment:

Well, time is ticking away and I have lots to do today before school gets out!  Until tomorrow. . .

How time flies . . .

HAPPY 21st  BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET JENNIFER!  How time does fly, why it does seem as just yesterday it was Jen that was starting school and now she is 21.  I do have to say that I am so proud of what a beautiful young woman she has turned out to be.  She is so strong, determined and focused on what she wants in life, she has so many qualities that I wish I had, so bold and courageous she doesn't back away from what is right and just in the world. She stands up for what she believes in and doesn't bow down to outside influences.  I love the way our relationship has grown and evolved into more than just mother and daughter, but into a friendship that is tied together with our hearts.  She gives me advice (whether I want it or not:) and encouragement to follow my dreams, she remembers the special things my mom and sister would do for me and she has picked up where they left off and continues to do those things for me, knowing how special they are and how much it means to me.  Today I celebrate you Jennifer, and the wonderful woman you have become.  May today be as special for you as you are to me.  I love you most!

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

It's been a long time since I've visited this little space in the blogosphere!  Good to be back, since it was one of my goals to accomplish once Ali got back in school.  I've got a couple of pictures of the cards I will be doing for our stamp-a-stack card class in a few weeks.  First up is one using a SU! set called Welcome Christmas:
This is a fun little card with a window to peek in at the family decorating the tree!  And the other card we will be making uses a single stamp from SU! called Christmas Postcard:

We will make 5 of each card in class. As I've been trying to update this blog, I do have the correct link to the current Stampin' Up! catalog on the left hand side, just click on the catalog picture (the catalog pic is the old catalog as I am having trouble uploading the correct image, says I have an internal error, but the link will take you to the current catalog if you want to browse the catalog)  Hope to see you there!
Happy Stamping,
Lea
